vanhaa karikko-vedenpinta-ajattelua lainaten (analogiat rules) kirjoittaja ehdottaa lukijoita vähentämään työhön käytössä olevaa aikaa jotta työn tehottomuus tulisi ilmi. samasta syystä ennen deadlinea tehdään (ehkä) tehokkaammiin töitä kun ei ole aikaa säätämiseen. ei huono.

applying the old lowering-the-water-level-idea (analogies rule) the writer proposes that people should cut down their working hours so that inefficiency in work would be revealed. maybe it is the same reason why (perhaps) we work more efficiently when a deadline is pressing on.
